Course Agenda

Asbestos hazards and risks are the main focus of this UKATA Asbestos Awareness training course. This includes understanding the health risks associated with asbestos exposure and how to identify potential hazards in the workplace. Participants will also learn about the different types of asbestos and their properties.

The course will cover where asbestos materials can be found, as this is crucial knowledge for anyone working in the construction or maintenance industries. This includes learning how to identify and safely handle asbestos-containing materials, as well as understanding the importance of proper disposal procedures. Participants will also learn about the risks associated with disturbing asbestos materials.

Legislation and guidance related to asbestos will be discussed in detail during the course. This includes the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and other relevant laws and regulations. Participants will learn about their legal responsibilities and the consequences of non-compliance. They will also be provided with guidance on how to effectively manage asbestos risks in the workplace.

The course will also cover everyones role in reducing risks associated with asbestos. This includes the responsibilities of employers, employees, and self-employed individuals. Participants will learn about the importance of communication and cooperation in maintaining a safe working environment. Additionally, procedures for dealing with unexpected situations, such as accidental exposure to asbestos, will be discussed to ensure that participants are prepared to handle any potential risks.

Welcome to the Paisley Training Centre! Our venue is conveniently located in the heart of Paisley, just a 5-minute walk from the train station and easily accessible from the M8 motorway. With plenty of onsite parking available, you wont have to worry about finding a spot.We know that training can be tiring, so we make sure to provide all the necessary refreshments to keep you going. Tea, coffee, and water are all supplied, and we are close to all local amenities in case you need anything else.Getting to the training centre is easy. Simply head south on Abbotsinch Rd from the M8 Paisley, then take the 1st exit onto Inchinnan Rd at the roundabout. Continue onto Love St, turn right onto Albion St, and then left onto Caledonia St/A726. Finally, turn right onto Macdowall St and you will find the training centre on your right at PA3 2NB.We cant wait to welcome you to the training centre and help you on your learning journey.
