This course is held at Northern Counties Safety Group Ltd, units 4 & 5 Evans Business Centre, Belmont Industrial Estate, Durham City, DH1 1ST.This course starts at 8:15am till approximately 4:30pm.Delegates arriving any time after 8:45am may not be accepted onto the course.

Course Agenda

Applicable legislation including British Standards Code of Practice BS5973 and HSE recommendations. Working platforms and their safe working loads. Scaffold systems such as independent tied scaffolds, system scaffolds, and mobile aluminium towers. Safe use of ladders.

Scaffold erection, including the correct use and application of fall arrest equipment during scaffold erection. Statutory inspections, completion of reports, handover certificates, and method statements. The inspection of all types of scaffold, including independent, putlog, birdcage, mobile, and static.

Identifying and addressing common hazards and risks associated with scaffold safety. Proper use and maintenance of scaffold equipment, including fall protection systems. Emergency procedures and protocols. Practical exercises and demonstrations.
