Who Should Attend?

Anyone in an organisation, who assembles, alters, dismantles, moves, inspects and most importantly USES low level access equipment such as podiums, folding room scaffolds and wide area platforms. This not only includes construction sites but all workplaces, such as schools, offices and factories both internally and externally.

Joining Instructions

Since the safe use of low level access units requires that candidates consult safety notices and read and thoroughly understand the manufacturer’s instruction manual, literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for any access equipment user. Similarly, since the assembly and use of low level access units can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights / vertigo, giddiness / difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness. If candidates have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, or have any doubts about their fitness to use low level access units, they must bring them to the attention of their employer. This need not preclude them from using low level access units, provided their employer conducts an assessment and is able to put into place adequate measures, to take account of any difficulties they may have.

Course Agenda

The course will also cover the importance of risk assessments and how to carry them out effectively. This will involve identifying potential hazards, evaluating the level of risk, and implementing control measures to minimize or eliminate these risks. Participants will learn how to create a safe working plan and communicate it to others on the worksite.

The course will also touch upon the legal responsibilities of employers and employees when it comes to working at heights. This includes the duty to provide proper training and equipment, as well as the responsibility to follow safety protocols and report any incidents or near misses. Participants will gain a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.

Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions to deepen their understanding of the topics covered. They will also receive a comprehensive course manual for future reference. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a PASMA Low Level Access Tower training certificate, which is valid for five years. Parking is limited and operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so arriving early is advisable. If the car park is full, you can use the nearby Pay and Display in Sovereign Way at your own expense. If youre coming by train, its just a short walk from Tonbridge mainline station.
