Who Should Attend?
The NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate aims to build on the knowledge gained in the NEBOSH National General Certificate. It has been designed for managers, supervisors, employee representatives and others and aims to equip holders to contribute to the conduct and review of fire risk assessments and fire preventive and protective measures within most workplaces. It is therefore also suitable for people moving careers into fire safety adviser roles. It provides an appropriate breadth of underpinning knowledge for non-specialists in fire safety to enable them to discharge more effectively their organisational duties or functions with respect to workplace fire safety.
Joining Instructions
No previous health and safety or fire safety knowledge is required although it should be noted that the assessment includes a requirement to write a short report. Please be aware that to achieve the full qualification candidates will need to be NEBOSH NGC1 unit holders (passed within the last 5 years).

Successful candidates who attend and pass the NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management training course will receive a NEBOSH accredited Fire Certificate. This certificate is recognized and respected by employers and regulatory bodies in the UK and around the world. It demonstrates a high level of knowledge and understanding in fire safety and risk management.
To achieve this certificate, delegates are required to complete an on-site workplace fire risk assessment assignment within 2 weeks of the courses completion. This allows candidates to apply their newly acquired skills and knowledge in a practical setting, enhancing their learning experience. The assignment is then submitted to NEBOSH for assessment.
Upon successful completion of the exam, NEBOSH will issue the Fire Certificate approximately 12 weeks after the courses completion. This certificate serves as evidence of the candidates competence in fire safety and risk management, providing a valuable addition to their professional portfolio. It also opens up opportunities for career advancement and progression in the field of health and safety.

Unit FC1 is a taught unit assessed by one two-hour written examination. The written examination consists of ten short-answer questions and one long-answer question. Unit FC2 is assessed by one four-hour fire risk assessment carried out in the candidates workplace within 14 days of sitting the examination for unit FC1.Please be aware that to achieve the full NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management certificate qualification, candidates will need to be NEBOSH NGC1 unit holders (passed within the last 5 years).
