Course Agenda

The IPAF Operator Weekend training course is designed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms MEWPs safely and effectively. The course begins with an introduction to IPAF and MEWPs, followed by a comprehensive overview of legislation and guidance related to MEWP operation. Participants will also learn about rental terms and conditions, as well as the different types of MEWPs and how to select the right one for a specific job.

The course also covers the structural parts of MEWPs and how they function, as well as providing training on how to operate and familiarize oneself with the different types of machines. Participants will also learn about the importance of conducting daily inspections of the MEWP and how to properly use personal fall protection equipment while operating the machine.

Safety is a crucial aspect of MEWP operation, which is why this course also includes training on safe operating methods and hazard awareness. Participants will learn how to identify potential hazards and how to prevent accidents from occurring while operating a MEWP. The course also goes beyond training and emphasizes the importance of safety in the workplace, encouraging participants to continue practicing safe habits even after completing the course. Finally, a written test will be conducted to assess participants understanding and retention of the course material.

Persons who successfully complete the IPAF Operator Weekend training course will receive an electronic 5 year PAL Powered Access License and certificate. This accreditation is recognized globally and is essential for those working in the Working At Heights industry.
