Course Information

To provide delegates with an awareness of the legal implications, common hazards and precautions, together with the correct driving, operation, pre-use inspection, elevating, lowering and emergency procedures for these commonly used MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms).

Who Should Attend?

Anyone in an organisation that uses, supervises or manages the use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPS) and needs to be made aware of the correct selection, inspection and use of safety harnesses to prevent falls.

Joining Instructions

Specific IPAF Safety Harness Awareness joining instructions will be supplied to you (if appropriate) once your booking is confirmed. If, once confirmation has been received, you are in anyway unsure of what prerequisites or items you need to bring or provide, then your dedicated training manager or the trainer conducting your course will be able to confirm this with you. Course Agenda

Legislation and regulations related to working at heights including CE markings and EN standards will be covered in this course. The hierarchy of measures for working at height and the use of MEWPs and harnesses will also be discussed.

Participants will learn about the different types of harnesses and lanyards and how to choose the appropriate ones for different situations. Pre-use checks and correct usage of harnesses will be emphasized to ensure safety and compliance.

The course will include an IPAF harness statement and both theory and practical assessments to evaluate knowledge and skills. By the end of the course, participants will have a thorough understanding of safety harness awareness and be able to apply it in their work.

Welcome to The Training Centre in Bishops Stortford! Getting here is straightforward. From the A120, head east on Coggeshall Road, then keep right to continue on Colne Road. Take a sharp right onto the A120 and at Marks Farm Roundabout, take the first exit to stay on the A120. Continue towards M11/Stansted/Chelmsford/A131, keeping left at the fork. At Priory Wood Roundabout, take the first exit onto Thremhall Avenue, then follow the signs through Birchanger Green Roundabout and onto Dunmow Road.
