Who Should Attend?

Any person who is expected to respond to a fire alarm or may actually be confronted by a real fire. Any person who may be required or have the opportunity to use a fire extinguisher, basically all staff.

Joining Instructions

Specific Fire Safety and Use of Extinguishers joining instructions will be supplied to you (if appropriate) once your booking is confirmed. If, once confirmation has been received, you are in anyway unsure of what prerequisites or items you need to bring or provide, then your dedicated training manager or the trainer conducting your course will be able to confirm this with you. Contact numbers and ways to get in touch will be provided.

Course Agenda

The Fire Safety Awareness training course covers the most common causes of fire, including electrical faults, human error, and flammable materials. Participants will learn about the behavior of fire and how it spreads, as well as the importance of fire prevention measures to reduce the risk of a fire breaking out.

In the event of a fire, knowing what to do can save lives. This course will teach attendees the proper procedures to follow if a fire breaks out, including how to raise the alarm, how to evacuate the building safely, and how to use fire extinguishers effectively.

Participants will also learn about emergency evacuation procedures, including the importance of designated fire exits and assembly points. They will gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of fire wardens and how to assist with the evacuation of others. This course will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to handle fire emergencies confidently and efficiently.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, this course also includes practical exercises and demonstrations to reinforce learning. Participants will have the opportunity to practice using fire extinguishers and experience a simulated fire evacuation. By the end of the course, attendees will have a comprehensive understanding of fire safety and be able to apply their skills in real-life situations.

Welcome to The Training Centre in Jarrow! Located conveniently with easy access, this venue is perfect for your training needs. Throughout the day, you can enjoy complimentary refreshments, including tea, coffee, juice, and water. If you prefer to bring your own lunch, theres a canteen equipped with a fridge and microwave. Alternatively, a sandwich van visits around 10 am, offering a delightful selection of hot and cold food, drinks, and cakes. For those looking to explore, a shopping centre with various cafes and shops is just a short walk away.To reach The Training Centre, start from the A194M South Shields and take the A182/B1288 exit towards Washington/Birtley/Newcastle/Gateshead/A1. At Havannah Interchange, take the 4th exit onto the A194M ramp towards Tyne Tunnel/South Shields, then merge onto A194M. Continue to White Mare Pool Interchange, taking the 2nd exit onto Leam Ln/A194. At the next roundabout, again take the 2nd exit onto the A19 ramp towards Tyne Tunnel/Morpeth. Merge onto A19 and take the A185 exit towards Jarrow/Hebburn. Finally, at Jarrow Interchange, take the 2nd exit onto Priory Rd/B1297, and youll find The Training Centre on your right. We look forward to welcoming you!. Tea, Coffee, Juice and water are available through out day. There is a canteen with fridge and microwave if candidates wish to bring their own lunch. We also have a sandwich was calls around 10Ish which has hot and cold food, drinks, cakes etc. There is a shopping centre within walking distance with cafes and shops serving hot and cold food.

Successful candidates who attend and pass the Fire Safety Awareness training course will receive a 3 year accreditation by XYZ Training Group Ltd.
