This 5 day (up to 7 day) course takes place on-site and covers tree climbing and aerial rescue operations (Formerly NPTC CS38).

Course Agenda

Identify potential hazards and risks, Understand requirements of risk assessments, Climbing equipment, Tree identification, Identify and inspect equipment as to LOLER regulations, Carry out a plan of operation, Gain access into tree using various techniques, Ascend and descend a tree using rope and harness, Emergency procedures, Rescue a casualty with damaged or undamaged rope and three person team technique, Identify key procedural points when dealing with a casualty, Retrieve check and store rope and equipment..

Accreditation

Assessment for the Climbing and Aerial Rescue CS38 training course will take place on a separate day, usually within two weeks of completing the training. This is dependent on assessor availability and candidate ability. Successful candidates will be awarded the NPTC Level 2 Awards in Tree Climbing and Rescue and Accessing a Tree using a Rope and Harness. This is the former NPTC CS38 qualification.
