Course Agenda

Asbestos hazards and risks are the main focus of this UKATA Asbestos Awareness training course. This includes understanding the health risks associated with asbestos exposure and how to identify potential hazards in the workplace. Participants will also learn about the different types of asbestos and their properties.

The course will cover where asbestos materials can be found, as this is crucial knowledge for anyone working in the construction or maintenance industries. This includes learning how to identify and safely handle asbestos-containing materials, as well as understanding the importance of proper disposal procedures. Participants will also learn about the risks associated with disturbing asbestos materials.

Legislation and guidance related to asbestos will be discussed in detail during the course. This includes the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and other relevant laws and regulations. Participants will learn about their legal responsibilities and the consequences of non-compliance. They will also be provided with guidance on how to effectively manage asbestos risks in the workplace.

The course will also cover everyones role in reducing risks associated with asbestos. This includes the responsibilities of employers, employees, and self-employed individuals. Welcome to the Milton Keynes Training Centre! Our venue is conveniently located in the town of Milton Keynes, with a postcode of MK1 1AX. While parking spaces directly outside the centre are limited, there is free parking available on Lyon Road. However, these spaces tend to fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early to secure a spot.We want to make sure our delegates are well taken care of during their training, so we provide complimentary drinks throughout the day. Please note that lunch is not included, so we suggest bringing your own or exploring the nearby area for dining options.Getting to the Training Centre is easy from the A5 Milton Keynes. Simply head west on Rampart Way towards Ironmasters Way, and at the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto the M54 ramp towards Birmingham/Wolverhampton/M6. From there, merge onto the M54 and take the right exit onto the M6. Continue on the M6 and then take the M1 exit. Keep right at the fork and merge onto the M1. At junction 14, take the A509 exit and continue towards A509. At Broughton Interchange, take the 3rd exit onto A509, and at Northfield Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto H6 Childs Wy/A4146.
